For a normal adult, a pulse rate of over 80 beats per minute is within the normal range. In general, a pulse rate of 60-100 beats per minute is normal for adults. The pulse usually varies in a relatively large range because it is usually affected by body temperature, emotions, or the environment where the patient is located. For example, when the patient is overly excited by the sympathetic nerves, when he/she is under mental stress, pressure, poor rest and sleep, or when he/she consumes a large amount of alcohol, strong coffee, strong tea, the pulse will increase and accelerate in clinical symptoms. In addition, if the patient has some organic diseases, such as heart disease or endocrine metabolic diseases, the pulse will also change in these cases, but if the patient does not have obvious organic heart disease, the pulse will usually be within 100 beats per minute.
