The side effects of HPV vaccination are redness, swelling, heat and pain at the site of the injection in a few women, and occasionally headache, fever and weakness in some women, but most women will not experience any discomfort after HPV vaccination. It is not recommended to take a shower within three days after HPV vaccination to avoid contact with water at the site of the needle eye during the shower, which may induce or aggravate the symptoms of local infection, which may cause local pus when the infection is serious. In case of local redness, swelling, heat and pain, local hot compresses can be applied to help the inflammation dissipate better. In case of localized pus, it is recommended to use hydrogen peroxide for localized debridement, then iodophor for local disinfection, and finally mupirocin ointment for local application. In case of fever and headache, physical cooling is recommended for mild cases, while antipyretic drugs are recommended for severe cases.
