How many months does your baby start talking?

Babies start talking at around one week of age and only make relatively monotonous sounds, like cries and ahhs, at 1-3 months of age. As the baby’s vocal cords continue to develop, he or she will make babbling sounds between 3 and 6 months of age. Slowly at 6-9 months of age, babies can simply respond to what others say, and can also laugh out loud, and at 9 months of age, babies can simply imitate some other sounds. The baby’s vocal cords will be fully developed around one week of age, when the baby can be taught to say short words, such as Daddy, Mommy and other words can be said clearly. Babies can speak normally after one week of age. If your baby cannot speak after one week of age, consider if there is a delay in language development and go to the hospital for a timely checkup to avoid affecting your baby’s physical development. Some babies may speak early or late for personal reasons, but if there are no other uncomfortable symptoms, parents are advised to observe more and speak to their babies more often to promote their language development.
