Cisplatin side effects

Cisplatin is a drug used in cancer chemotherapy, and side effects include gastrointestinal adverse reactions, nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, allergy, and bone marrow suppression. The use of this drug may cause severe vomiting and nausea; patients using more than 90 mg/m² per day may experience renal tubular damage. The use of the drug may also lead to neurotoxicity, such as hearing loss, tinnitus, loss of muscle strength in the trunk, paralysis of the extremities, etc.; the drug may also cause allergic reactions, such as non-specific maculopapular rash, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, swelling of the face, etc.; the patient may also experience a decrease in the number of platelet white blood cells. Cisplatin should be used under the supervision of a physician, and the drug should be contraindicated in pregnant women or patients with renal impairment.
