Impaired renal function can do general MRI, but patients are generally not recommended to receive enhanced MRI. 1. Ordinary MRI: Generally, MRI does not cause much damage to the kidney, if the patient has unilateral renal atrophy but normal renal function, he/she can receive MRI. 2. Enhanced MRI: Because this kind of examination usually requires injection of contrast agent for examination, and contrast agent has certain damage to the kidney, so it is not recommended for patients with impaired renal function to receive this kind of examination. Especially for those with severe renal insufficiency, it is not recommended to undergo contrast examination to avoid irreversible damage to the kidneys. There are certain contraindications to MRI, and it is recommended that patients need to consult a specialist before undergoing the test.
