What causes shoulder pain in the elderly

Shoulder pain in the elderly is commonly caused by periarthritis, cervical spondylosis and trauma to the shoulder joint, as follows: 1. Periarthritis: If the patient is about 50 years old, it is usually periarthritis of the shoulder joint. The patient will have continuously increasing shoulder joint pain as well as limited movement of the shoulder joint. The pain will disappear completely in about a year, but there will be severe limitation of shoulder joint movement and muscle atrophy around the shoulder joint. 2. Cervical spondylosis: Neurogenic cervical spondylosis and mixed cervical spondylosis can cause neuroedema, and the patient may have radiating pain in the neck and shoulder, accompanied by numbness and weakness of the upper limbs. 3. Trauma to the shoulder joint: Elderly patients have weak muscles around the shoulder and are susceptible to trauma. The muscles around the shoulder of elderly patients are weak and prone to trauma, joint capsule injury, fracture or shoulder joint dislocation, and the patient will have shoulder joint pain symptoms, accompanied by limited shoulder joint movement and local swelling.
