Persistent chest pain for a few hours can be caused by the following diseases: first, thoracic aortic aneurysm, aortic dilatation or entrapment aneurysm, the attack will be manifested as chest pain, persistent and not significantly relieved by oral pain medication, a CT or enhanced CT scan can further confirm the diagnosis. Then, if the patient has a history of hypertension, interventional treatment should be performed if necessary. Secondly, patients with pneumothorax can also present with chest pain, chest tightness, restricted breathing, and in severe cases, dyspnea. The diagnosis can be confirmed by chest radiography, and if necessary, surgical treatment is an option. This disease occurs more often in patients with a thin and tall body type, and also in elderly patients with a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, who are also prone to pneumothorax.
