What’s with the golden-colored poop?

The golden color of the stool may be caused by physiological factors, or it may be caused by cholecystitis, acute pancreatitis, indigestion and other conditions.
1. Physiological factors: the normal color of stool is brownish yellow, if the recent excessive intake of carrots, pumpkin and other foods containing more yellow pigments will cause the stool to appear golden yellow.
2. Cholecystitis, acute pancreatitis: these diseases can cause the bilirubin content in the blood to increase, and then the stools appear golden yellow color.
3. Indigestion: When indigestion occurs, the intestinal tract’s ability to absorb lipid-based nutrients decreases, resulting in the body’s inability to absorb the fat in the food, causing the fat content in the stool to rise and then appear golden-yellow in color.
If you have a golden-colored stool, we recommend that you go to the hospital and ask the doctor to make a judgment after eliminating physiological factors.
