Be alert for shingles with unexplained pain

In fact, herpes zoster is not terrible, it is a common disease, multi-infection, commonly known as the “turnbuckle dragon”. The cause of the disease is varicella-zoster virus infection, the initial infection of this virus manifested as chickenpox, chickenpox healed, the virus latent in the body’s ganglia. When the patient’s immunity decreases (infection, exertion, mental shock, application of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, immunodeficiency disease, etc.), the virus is activated again and invades one or several nerves, producing pain and a rash along these affected nerves. In the case of “transthyretin”, the nerves of the thoracolumbar segment are invaded. However, most of the patients have nerve involvement on the surface of the body, and although the pain is severe, it is not life-threatening. As long as the pain is treated early with aggressive antiviral treatment, there is basically no residual severe pain, or “postherpetic neuralgia”. However, when most people know they have shingles, they only focus on the rash on their body, thinking that once the rash disappears, the pain will naturally get better. In fact, the damage to the nerves is much more serious and the repair of the nerves is a slow process, which requires us to actively treat the pain, i.e. to help the nerves repair as soon as possible.
