Sapindus has the efficacy of clearing heat, expectorant, eliminating stagnation and killing worms. It is also used externally as a face wash.
Sapindus is a traditional Chinese medicine, which is the dried seeds of Sapindus indica, family Sapindaceae. It is effective in clearing away heat, expelling phlegm, eliminating accumulation and killing worms. It is effective in treating paralysis of the throat (redness, swelling and pain in the pharynx, or dryness, foreign body sensation, or itchy discomfort in the pharynx, and difficulty in swallowing), coughing and wheezing, chancre (which is a digestive disease in modern medicine), ringworm, and swollen toxin.
The internal use of this product decoction or powder; external use: powder blowing throat, rub teeth or decoction wash or boil paste coating.
Its adverse reactions and contraindications are still unclear. It should be noted that people with cold spleen and stomach should not use it. According to the “Pu Ji Fang” records, Sapindus, rhubarb, fragrant adenosine, green salt, daily use of rubbing teeth, treatment of tooth swelling and pain; “Fujian Drugs”, Sapindus kernel and fenugreek decoction of water, treatment of throat moths; “Qingdao Manual of Traditional Chinese Medicine”, Sapindus nuts decoction of water for whooping cough, colds.
