Black nipples caused by breast enlargement disease can usually recover on their own after healing, but they may also have excessive pigmentation due to the length of time they have been affected, or they may not recover due to the relatively high levels of oestrogen still in the body. It is normal for the nipples to remain dark and there are no health consequences.
