What to do if your eyes are red, swollen and watery

There are many causes of red, swollen and watery eyes, the more common ones being like granuloma. Typical symptoms of granuloma are red, swollen, hot and painful eyelids with tearing. Generally first use anti-inflammatory eye drops and heat compresses, commonly used eye drops are Tobias drops, Pralofen drops, erythromycin eye ointment. If the symptoms are not relieved or aggravated, surgical treatment is recommended to incise and drain the pus. In internal blepharitis, the incision is usually perpendicular to the lid margin, and in external blepharitis the incision is usually parallel to the lid margin. Squeezing is contraindicated in this condition as it may cause serious complications (e.g. sepsis). Secondly, conjunctivitis can cause tearing, redness and swelling in severe cases, and anti-inflammatory treatment should also be given. It is therefore advisable to have a check-up in hospital to confirm the diagnosis and treat the symptoms.
