How to treat rickets in children

If children suffer from rickets they are prone to sweating and also have symptoms such as corns, occipital baldness, X-shaped legs and O-shaped legs. To treat children promptly, treatment can include the following: 1. Expose children to more sunlight in general and make sure they drink enough milk, as milk is the main source of calcium for children. Also exposing children to sunlight can promote the synthesis of vitamin D in the skin. Both vitamin D and calcium can be replenished and children’s rickets can be corrected. 2. Children need to receive timely medication. If the symptoms of rickets are serious, children can be given large doses of vitamin D intramuscularly, which is more helpful for the treatment of rickets in children. 3. Children are given other medications, such as calcium gluconate oral solution and calcium carbonate granules, which can be used for calcium supplementation in children.
