The periodicity of drug therapy for tuberculosis and lymph node tuberculosis depends on the type of tuberculosis infection, the severity of the disease, and whether it is combined with other diseases for at least six months. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, while lymph node tuberculosis is often due to secondary tuberculosis. Anti-tuberculosis drug therapy is required as soon as possible after diagnosis of TB and lymph node TB. The first-line drugs include isoniazid, rifampicin, streptomycin, ethambutol, and pyrazinamide, and the principles of treatment are: early, in combination, in the right amount, and regularly throughout the course of the disease. The duration of drug treatment varies according to the type of infection, with a 6- to 9-month period for first-time TB patients and a longer period of about 6 to 12 months for sputum-positive patients. For patients with drug-resistant or even extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis, the cycle of treatment needs to be further prolonged, with a treatment cycle of 20 months or even longer, and sensitive drugs need to be changed according to drug sensitivity tests. When combined with extrapulmonary tuberculosis and other types of diseases, the treatment period needs to be further extended, and the treatment cycle needs to be determined according to the specific type of disease. Lymph node tuberculosis belongs to secondary tuberculosis, and the principle of its drug treatment is the same as that of pulmonary tuberculosis. However, due to the fact that when lymph node tuberculosis drug treatment, tuberculosis drugs are more difficult to enter the lesion site, therefore, the treatment cycle needs to be further extended, generally needing 12 to 18 months, and according to the type of disease and the severity of the disease and so on with reference to the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis and the extension of time. Patients diagnosed with tuberculosis should go to the hospital in a timely manner to clarify the type of disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for appropriate treatment.
