The efficacy of the method of tonifying the heart and strengthening the brain in the treatment of intractable insomnia

OBJECTIVE: To observe the efficacy of tonic heart and brain method in the treatment of persistent insomnia. Eighty patients with insomnia were randomly divided into an observation group (40 cases) and a conventional control group (40 cases). The observation group used the method of tonifying the heart and strengthening the brain. The control group was treated with the oral Shule Valium method, and the efficacy was evaluated after 3 courses of treatment. Results: The cure rate of the observation group was 95%, and the cure rate of the control group was 83%, and the efficacy of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group (p0.05). 1.1, Diagnostic criteria Refer to the Chinese Classification and Diagnostic Criteria for Mental Disorders (CCDM-2-R) developed by the Chinese Medical Association Psychiatric Society. 1. having typical symptoms of insomnia, with sleep disorder as almost the only symptom and other symptoms secondary to insomnia, including difficulty in falling asleep, easy waking and dreaminess, premature waking in the morning, inability to go back to sleep after waking, feeling unwell, fatigue or daytime sleepiness after waking; 2. the above sleep disorder occurred at least three times a week and lasted for more than one month; 3. insomnia caused significant distress or decreased efficiency of mental activities, or hindered social functions; 4. Not part of any kind of physical disease or mental disorder symptoms. 1.2. Inclusion criteria Those who meet the diagnostic criteria of insomnia (4 articles) and the requirements of TCM dialectical diagnostic criteria, those aged 18-65 years old, and under the condition that the patients agree, can be included in the observation cases. 2. Treatment methods 2.1. Observation group Acupuncture points: take bilateral Shen Men and Baihui points. The acupuncture method: after routine sterilization of the acupoints, a 25-mm milli-needle was used to stab the Shen Men point 13-20 mm directly, and after obtaining Qi, the twisting and tonic method was performed, and the needle was retained for 30 minutes; a 50-mm milli-needle was used to stab the Baihui point 35-45 mm flat from the back to the front, and after the patient felt a strong numbness and swelling, the needle was retained for 30 minutes. The treatment was given once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment, with a 3-day break between courses, and continued for the second course of treatment. 2.2. The control group was treated orally with Sulexpin 1mg once a night. 10 days was a course of treatment, with a 3-day break between courses, and continued with the second course of treatment. 3.Efficacy observation 3.1.Efficacy standard According to the guideline of clinical research of new Chinese medicine (treatment of insomnia) issued by the Ministry of Health of China in 1993, the classification is as follows: clinically cured: sleep time above 6 hours, deep sleep, full of energy after waking up; effective: sleep significantly improved, sleep time increased by more than 3 hours, sleep depth increased: effective: symptoms reduced, but sleep time increased by less than 3 hours compared with that before treatment; ineffective: treatment Increase less than 3 hours of sleep time than before the treatment; Ineffective: insomnia is not significantly improved or is anti aggravated after treatment. 3.2, treatment results: see the following table The efficacy results of 40 cases of insomnia treated with the method of tonic heart and brain acupuncture Group Number of cases Cured Effective Ineffective Total effective rate Observation group 40 19 (48%) 15 (37%) 4 (10%) 2 (5%) 95% Control group 40 11 (28%) 10 (25%) 12 (30%) 7 (17) 83% The total effective rate of the observation group is 95%, and the total effective rate of the control group is 83%. The total effective rate of the observation group was 95%, and the total effective rate of the control group was 83%, which was statistically treated, P0.01, and there was a significant difference. In the observation group, no adverse reactions occurred, and the next day of treatment was more energetic, while 13 cases in the control group showed dizziness and weakness, 14 cases showed memory loss, 9 cases showed loss of appetite and other adverse reactions. 4. Typical case Zhang, female, 48 years old, teacher. Initially diagnosed on May 6, 2003. Complaint: Insomnia for 1 year, aggravated for 2 months. For one year, she had poor sleep with dizziness, weakness and dreaminess, especially after exertion, she could not sleep all night, she had to take Shule Valium to fall asleep for 3 to 4 hours each time, and could not fall asleep again after waking up, she was mentally weak during the day, dizziness and forgetfulness, and even panic and shortness of breath, her face was yellowish, her tongue was light red, her moss was thin and white, and her pulse was sunken and thin. After one course of treatment with the Heart and Brain Acupuncture Method, he slept for more than 6 hours, slept deeply, and woke up with full energy. No recurrence at six months follow-up. The cause of insomnia belongs to the category of “sleeplessness” in Chinese medicine. The cause of this disease is mainly due to the injury caused by the seven emotions, too much thinking, too much labor and weariness, or violent fright, physical deficiency, etc., which causes disturbance of the heart and mind or loss of nourishment of the heart and mind, so that the mind does not keep the house and becomes sleepless, and the disease is located in the heart. Ling Shu. Evil guest” said: “The heart, the five viscera and six bowels of the great master, the spirit of the house also.” The main physiological function of the heart is two: one is the main blood vessels, and the other is to hide the spirit. These two functions of the heart affect each other, the heart must be moistened by the heart blood in order to work properly, if the heart blood is insufficient, the heart and mind without nourishment, will be in a trance during the day, difficult to sleep at night, even if you sleep will also dream disturbance and other manifestations of the mind. Shen Men is the original hand Shao Yin Heart meridian point. The original point is the part where the original qi from the internal organs is infused and retained. The word “original” means the original source, the original qi, which is the driving force of the body’s vital activities. Therefore, acupuncture of the Shen Men acupoint with the tonic method can achieve the effect of nourishing the heart and blood and calming the mind. 1. Gao Xiyin, Ma Qiaolin. A Brief Exploration of the Relationship between the Governor Vessel and the Brain. World TCM. 2007; 5(2); Baihui is also known as Sanyang Wuhui. Sanyang refers to the meeting of the yang energy of the three yang meridians of the hands and feet and the Governor’s Vessel at this point. It is at the top of the human head, at the highest point of the human body, so the yang energy of all the meridians of the human body meet here, and the brain is an important “Qi Heng’s internal organs”, and there is “the head is the meeting of all the yang” in the literature of traditional Chinese medicine, and the Governor Vessel “into the brain”, “into the brain”, “into the brain” and other records. It is stated that the relationship between the Governor’s Vessel and the brain is close. Bone empty theory” pointed out that the branch of the Governor’s vein “up through the heart”, the heart is the master of the mind, and the brain is the same as the body’s emotions, thinking activities of the center. The “Medicine in the heart and the West” said: “The human mind has a body and use, the body of the mind is hidden in the brain, the use of the mind in the heart”. From the role of the brain is located in the skull, by the essence of the collection of the essence, the function of its role depends on the moistening of qi and blood fluids. The Governor Vessel reaches the brain through the marrow, and meets with the meridians, through the fourteen channels of qi and blood infusion, the visceral essence upward transmission in the brain, in order to serve the spirit. Therefore, the Governor’s Vessel has the role of unifying and supervising the Yang, the sea of Yang, regulating Yin and Yang, the program of the twelve meridians, the internal organs of the body through the dorsal acupuncture point of the foot and sun bladder meridian governed by the Governor’s Vessel. And the head for the yang will, Ming Dynasty Li Shizhen pointed out that “the brain for the House of the Gods”, is the center of all human activities, the “Jinbang Mi Lu” said “the brain for the House of the Gods, presiding over the five gods, to regulate the internal organs of Yin and Yang, the limbs and bones with.” From the perspective of modern medicine, the brain belongs to the nervous system, the human organs, the functional activities of the system are governed by the nervous system, so as to maintain the coordination of the activities of the organs, so that the body becomes an organic unity. It can be seen that both the Governor and the brain have an overall regulating effect on the functional activities of the human body. Therefore, acupuncture of the Baihui point with the tonic method can achieve the effect of tonifying the marrow and calming the brain. From the clinical efficacy of this group, the efficacy of the observation group of tranquilizing the brain was better than that of the control group.
