What’s wrong with thin stools?

Patients with loose stools mainly consider the following three causes: First, acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases: such as acute gastroenteritis, ulcerative colitis, intestinal tuberculosis, intestinal tumors, Crohn’s disease, etc. Second, extra-intestinal factors: such as chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cancer, cholecystitis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, etc., can cause increased intestinal peristalsis, resulting in thin and unshaped stools, as well as bloating, acid reflux, belching and other gastrointestinal symptoms, and even fatty diarrhea. Third, psychological and psychiatric factors: such as gastrointestinal neurosis, as well as mental stress, environmental changes and other causes of irritable bowel syndrome. When there are changes in stool properties, color and defecation habits, we should pay attention to them and further examine colonoscopy and intestinal barium angiography, abdominal CT, and give comprehensive treatment after clarifying the cause.
