Can hyperlipidemia be completely cured?

Hyperlipidemia, or hyperlipidemia, is partially and completely curable. Primary hyperlipidemia refers to familial hypercholesterolemia, which cannot be cured but can be controlled by medication and plasma purification therapy. Secondary hyperlipidemia can be treated by finding the secondary cause, such as hypothyroidism, which leads to elevated lipids, and can be corrected. Thirty percent of the body’s lipids come from the diet and 70 percent from the liver’s own synthesis. In a small percentage of patients, lipids can be well controlled through dietary control and lifestyle interventions. Most patients still need to take oral medications to keep their lipids in a more ideal range. Currently, the commonly used medications include simvastatin, pravastatin, resevastatin and ezetimibe, which need to be taken under the guidance of a doctor.
