Recently, a 20-year-old woman sought medical attention because her myopia was too high, she was not comfortable wearing glasses, and she urgently needed to get rid of her beer bottle cap-like glasses. We first examined her and found that she had 1200 degrees of myopia and a little astigmatism. Poor kid, with such a high degree, she almost had to feel it without glasses. We then gave her a detailed and thorough examination and the results showed that her eyes could be implanted with an IOL to fulfill her wish of not wearing glasses. Is the IOL implantation a surgical procedure? Yes, surgery is required. We made a small incision at the edge of her cornea and implanted the IOL (the wonderful lens pictured below) in front of her natural lens, just like putting a contact lens in her eye, and the surgery was complete. A few minutes later, the young woman was happy to announce that she could see the world clearly. She said that she wanted to give her child a perfect image when she became a mother and the first thing she wanted to do was to remove her glasses, so she asked a colleague to help her get a thorough examination and prepare for the laser surgery. Unexpectedly, the examination results showed that her cornea was thin and she was not suitable for corneal laser treatment. So how can I get rid of my glasses? By the way, an IOL could be implanted into her eye. So after the necessary tests, my colleague implanted an IOL for her and successfully helped her achieve her wish. Since then, she not only shows a perfect image in front of her children, but also, because of her personal experience as a patient, she can better understand patients’ feelings and work more easily and smoothly. So, we really should not refuse the benefits of modern technological civilization, take a brave step and give ourselves a big surprise. For myopia correction, we can choose to wear glasses, including frame glasses and contact lenses. If you don’t want to wear glasses, you can consider myopia laser surgery, and if you can’t do laser surgery because the thickness of the cornea is not enough or the myopia is too high, you can choose IOL implantation, there are many methods, and there is always one for you.
