The trendy mothers and fathers all want their babies to look beautiful and have white skin. When winter comes, the cold and dry air can easily damage your baby’s delicate skin. How should the baby’s skin care to keep moist? 1, infants in winter prone to skin problems (1) eczema autumn and winter and winter and spring, when the change of seasons is obvious when the most pollen and dust mites, therefore, this time is also the season of eczema. When eczema strikes, itching is intense, and the skin can become red, peeling, and even flowing, ulcerated, and crusted, making it hard for children and parents to sleep at night and suffer. (2) Frostbite In addition to eczema, frostbite is also a skin disease with a high incidence in winter. Frostbite is caused by cell damage and necrosis due to insufficient supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues because of the large temperature difference between indoor and outdoor areas and inadequate protection of exposed areas against cold and wind, which hinders local blood circulation. Frostbite occurs in exposed areas that do not have enough protection from the cold, such as the ears, hands and feet, and cheeks, etc. Frozen skin can become pale, red, swollen, blistered, and ulcerated. If left untreated, these symptoms will not heal until the weather warms up. Because of the local skin damage, many patients will be left with local scarring, and even the original area will recur in the following winter. (3) Dry skin disease Dry and itchy skin is also a common skin disease in winter. Many people feel itchy on their limbs and bodies after bathing or while sleeping, which is a common dry skin disease in winter. The outermost layer of the skin is the stratum corneum, on top of which there is a sebaceous film, which plays a moisturizing role for the skin and prevents water loss. In winter, the blood vessels on the surface of the skin are in a contracted state, the secretion of sebaceous film is reduced, and the moisture content of the stratum corneum is reduced; coupled with the dry weather in winter; winter clothes are worn more, and the friction between clothes generates static electricity, which are all factors that aggravate dry skin. Dry and flaky skin, itching will be aggravated. In addition, people who often take hot water baths will also lead to thinning of the sebaceous film, itching symptoms more obvious. Scratching repeatedly because of itching will aggravate epidermal damage, which in turn further aggravates itching. (4) Diaper dermatitis More clothes in winter, babies often wet their pants and fail to be found in time for replacement, which can easily cause diaper rash. Diaper rash mainly occurs in the perineum, buttocks and other diaper-covered areas. The baby’s stool and urine are not replaced in time, and the decomposition of ammonia-producing bacteria produces a large amount of ammonia, which stimulates local skin rashes, even blisters, erosions and ulcers. 2, baby skin care points and taboos No matter which season, moisturizing is the eternal topic of skin care. Because the baby’s stratum corneum is thin, it needs more moisturizing. Therefore, in winter we need to choose a cream with better moisture retention; especially dry skin, you can use oil-based moisturizing products, such as glycerin, emollient oil and so on. Winter UV rays are also very strong, the baby’s thin stratum corneum has poor protection against UV rays, plus long outdoor activities, so sun protection is also very important. Especially for children with eczema, the higher the ambient temperature, the more severe the eczema and itching, the more you should try to avoid prolonged sun exposure. Because the skin is more prone to dryness in winter, the number of baths can be 1 every other day, bathing should not use alkaline soap, try to use weak acidic or neutral body wash to reduce abnormal stimulation. The temperature of the bath water should not be too high, generally about 36 degrees on it. After drying the body, apply body lotion to the whole body to keep the skin moisturized. Wear soft and loose cotton underwear, avoid wearing underwear with chemical fiber components, and do not wear woolen clothes as underwear, because wool can also produce skin irritation and aggravate itching. In the early stages of frostbite, local blood circulation can be promoted through hot compresses, physical therapy and massage, and topical medications that promote skin circulation can also be used. Once your baby has frostbite, you should not soak it in chili water or ginger water because your baby’s skin is too delicate. If there is skin itching, try not to scratch with your hands or scald with hot water, as this practice of trying to get a quick fix will only aggravate the skin inflammation. You should apply a mild nourishing agent on your skin under the guidance of your doctor, and take some anti-allergy medication and oral vitamins as appropriate, and eat more fat-rich foods and vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin C and vitamin A. 3, how to choose the right skin care products If the baby’s skin is intact, we just need to pay attention to choose less irritating, suitable skin care products on it. For example, in summer we should choose a refreshing emulsion, and in winter you can choose a cream with better moisture retention; do not choose a product with a strong fragrance; before using it, you can try it behind the ear and observe it for 48 hours to determine if you are allergic. If the baby’s skin has eczema or other skin diseases, when the integrity of the skin is destroyed, whether to use skin care products recommended to consult a physician. Chronic skin diseases that only manifest as dryness, flaking or sensitivity are mainly due to the incompleteness of the skin barrier, and it is recommended to enhance moisturizing and choose medical skin care products. 4.Moisturizing skin through diet and exercise We can maintain the moisture and oil content of the skin through a healthy diet. Drink more boiled water, eat more fruits, vegetables, milk, meat skin, silver fungus, shiitake mushroom, pumpkin and other foods, and quantitatively eat some chicken, fish, pork liver, butter and other lipid-containing foods. In winter, skin blood vessels are often in a contracted state, sebum secretion is reduced, prone to various skin problems, pay attention to local warmth, you can accelerate blood circulation through exercises, touch, massage, promote metabolism, increase sebum secretion. Children with eczema should minimize contact with known allergens, such as dust mites, pollen, cow hair, sheep skin, feathers, etc.; eat less fish, shrimp, eggs, crabs and other foods that can easily cause allergies; keep the skin somewhat moist. Those with severe eczema can take anti-allergy medication internally or use moisturizing and anti-allergy medication topically under the guidance of a doctor.
