Pre-operative evaluation and approval process of kidney transplantation for relatives I. Pre-operative examination: 1. determine the blood type of the donor and the recipient in line with the principles of blood transfusion, i.e. A → A/AB, B → B/AB, O → A/B/AB/O, AB → AB; 2. check the recipient transplantation-related antibodies: group reactive antibodies (PRA), lymphotoxic; 3. conduct routine examinations to understand the donor’s general health (less costly. Even if a certain item is not suitable for kidney donation due to examination, right as a physical examination): blood routine, urinary routine, liver and kidney function, hepatitis B, hepatitis C full set, HIV, syphilis, CMV. ultrasound examination of liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas/bid kidney ureter, chest X-ray, electrocardiogram, abdominal KUB, secretory imaging of both kidneys; 4, perform renal chart examination (to understand the bilateral glomerular filtration rate GFR), check 24-hour creatinine clearance, 24-hour total urine protein and albumin quantification if necessary 5. CT scan of both kidneys and angiography of both kidneys (to understand whether there is any variation in the renal vasculature); 6. HLA loci of the donor and recipient (this test is more expensive, about several thousand dollars, so it is performed last). Note: 1. The above tests are performed step by step, easy first and then difficult, cheap first and then more expensive items; 2. Since the test results of various hospitals are not yet common to each other, in order to avoid duplicate tests, please decide which hospital to do the transplantation in and then perform the relevant tests; 3. Donors and patients who are ready to donate a kidney can first check the blood type locally, and then come to our hospital for further tests if the blood types match.
