Gliclazide tablets are taken before meals. For some drugs, choosing the right time of dosing can enhance the efficacy or improve the bioavailability of the drug. Gliclazide belongs to the sulfonylurea class of hypoglycemic drugs, choose to take it orally before meals for good efficacy, plasma peak concentration earlier than taking it during meals. Gliclazide has an oral peak time of 2-6 hours and a plasma half-life of about 10-12 hours, most of which is metabolized in the liver and the metabolites are mainly excreted by the kidneys; it should be used with caution in patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency. This drug is an insulin-promoting drug, which is suitable for adult non-insulin-dependent diabetic patients who cannot be treated with diet therapy, exercise therapy and weight reduction alone, especially for non-obese type 2 diabetic patients, and should be used with regular meals to prevent the occurrence of hypoglycemia.
