Hyperthyroidism is not an infectious disease, so it is not contagious. The full name of hyperthyroidism is hyperthyroidism, which is an autoimmune disease. It is mainly diagnosed as a hypermetabolic symptom caused by high levels of thyroid hormones in the blood. The diagnosis is based on 1) symptoms of hypermetabolism, such as panic, fever, excessive sweating, increased frequency of stools, anxiety, irritability and other related symptoms, 2) laboratory tests, such as increased free T3 and free T4 and decreased TSH, which is thyroid stimulating hormone, in order to diagnose hyperthyroidism, 3) and possibly some accompanying symptoms, such as proptosis and anterior tibial mucinous edema. Therefore, hyperthyroidism is not contagious because it is an autoimmune disease.
