The five-dose method of rabies vaccination is the standard procedure for preventing rabies after an animal bite or scratch. The five-dose method consists of one injection on the day of the injection, and one injection each on days 3, 7, 14 and 28 thereafter, with only one injection each time. According to research, the rabies neutralizing antibodies are basically produced on day 7 of the entire process, with some people not producing them yet, but on day 14 they all produce rabies neutralizing antibodies for protection. By the time the rabies vaccine is administered, that is, on day 7, after the third injection, the vast majority of people will have developed antibodies, and only a small number of people will be able to develop antibodies by the time the fourth injection is administered. Once antibodies are produced, you have immunity to the rabies virus and will not develop rabies.
