It is not easy to see for yourself if the wisdom tooth is growing horizontally, it should be partially erupted in order to be visible. If it is a wisdom tooth that is buried and blocked, it is impossible to see it by the naked eye. In the case of partially erupted wisdom teeth, you can check the morphology of the eruption site. If the morphology of the eruption site is that of a normal occlusal surface, i.e., a normal concave surface with sockets and gaps, the wisdom tooth is not considered to be growing horizontally. However, if the wisdom tooth is clearly protruding and looks like the side of the tooth, it is more likely that the wisdom tooth is growing horizontally. The best clinical approach is to perform a local dental radiograph or curved body laminate examination to clarify the exact direction of wisdom tooth growth.
