Treatment of sperm liquefaction

Semen opacification is a common physiological phenomenon in men and is more easily detected during routine semen examination. The first step in semen processing during IVF is the removal of seminal plasma. The seminal plasma can be purified by density gradient centrifugation to remove the seminal plasma. The upstream approach to obtain semen with higher viability and motility facilitates higher fertilization rates, and semen liquefaction helps to improve conception rates; therefore, liquefaction treatment is required during IVF processing to reduce semen non-liquefaction and is an essential step.
