Common complications of orthopaedic surgery

Common complications of orthopedic surgery: 1) infection in the surgical area and scar formation at the surgical opening; 2) functional rather than anatomical fracture repositioning, as long as the fracture is properly fixed after repositioning and does not affect function; 3) possible non-union of the fracture, because excessive separation during surgery may cause non-union; 4) damage to blood vessels and nerves, because the fracture site is accompanied by blood vessels and nerves, so there is a possibility of damage to blood vessels and nerves during surgery; 5) possible postoperative joint dysfunction and local scar formation, resulting in pain and unpredictable complications.
