Is the Hegu point on the left hand or the right?

Both the left and right hands include the circulation of the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, and therefore both have Hegu points. Hegu is the original point of the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian and is located at the midpoint of the radial margin of the second metacarpal bone, i.e., the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone near the direction of the thumb. Hegu point can treat head and face diseases of the five senses, large intestine diseases, pain in the upper limbs, and can also treat dysmenorrhea, stagnant labor, anhydrous sweating, excessive sweating, and exogenous diseases. Pregnant women should not needle this point. The acupuncture points of the twelve meridians are symmetrically distributed on both sides of the body, and only the acupuncture points of the Ren and Dudu meridians are distributed in the center of the body, so an acupuncture point corresponds to only one location. If the patient is in discomfort and seeks acupuncture treatment, it is recommended to go to a regular medical institution to ensure the safety of acupuncture.
