Precautions after meningioma surgery

The postoperative precautions for meningioma are the same as those for conventional craniotomy, as follows: 1. Pay attention to the patient’s consciousness and vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and limb movements; 2. Observe the location of the drainage bag, the color of the drainage fluid, the amount of drainage flow, and whether the patient has fever and convulsions, and whether there are changes in the pupils. In case of altered state of consciousness, timely review of CT is recommended to clarify the presence of intracranial hemorrhage and other complications; 3. Regularly review CT or MRI to detect postoperative recurrence in time and pay attention to the occurrence of epilepsy in the long term. One month after meningioma surgery, follow-up review is needed at the hospital to understand the presence of epilepsy, limb movement disorders, hydrocephalus, and other common post-surgical long-term complications, and to pay timely attention to the occurrence of distant epilepsy and tumor recurrence.
