The full name of tardive dyskinesia is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and its symptoms can be characterized by muscle atrophy, weakness, and a positive cone beam sign. Asymptomatic Lateral Sclerosis is a motor neuron disease, when its upper motor neurons or lower motor neurons are damaged, the symptoms of muscle weakness will appear. Because the damage to the nerves is irreversible, the symptoms of weakness cannot be relieved by resting; the symptoms of weakness will only get worse with the longer the disease lasts. People with acromegaly generally have a poor prognosis and the disease continues to progress, with many dying from paralysis of the respiratory muscles. Individuals diagnosed with the disease should be treated symptomatically (e.g., respiratory muscle paralysis with ventilator-assisted breathing) and with a variety of non-pharmacological treatments (e.g., acupuncture) by consulting a medical professional.
