Breast Care

At 4:30 pm on October 11, before the interview, Director Yang Qifeng had just finished his fourth surgery of the day. He was very tired and his voice was slightly hoarse, so the reporter could not bear to take up too much of his time. However, when he talked about the prevention and treatment of breast diseases, he immediately started to talk, and his spirited demeanor instantly overshadowed the fatigue and hard work of the day. In the conversation with Director Yang, the reporter deeply felt his powerful “magnetic field”. He is modest, amiable, with a friendly smile on his face …… reporter can’t wait to enter the world of this breast disease expert, to listen to the true story between him and his patients, to taste his incomprehensible relationship with breast disease treatment. The good doctor should not only have good technology, but also have good medical skills. As a breast surgery specialist who has studied in Japan and the United States for nearly 10 years and has been practicing breast surgery for 17 years, Yang is one of the “New Century Talents of the Ministry of Education”, “the first batch of young and middle-aged scientific and technological innovation leaders”, and recently selected as one of the experts of the National Special Support Program He was recently selected as an expert in the “Ten Thousand People Plan”, a national special support program. During his stay in the U.S., he conducted more in-depth research on the comprehensive treatment of breast cancer and was evaluated by the U.S. government as one of the first international outstanding talents with special talents, and has been listed in Who’s Who in the World several times. –In September 2014, the sixth “Good Mentor in My Mind” activity of Shandong University, according to the university’s selection criteria, after the university’s online voting and other links, 10 graduate student mentors were selected, and Yang Qifeng topped the list. Director Yang is covered with many dazzling haloes. His profound attainments in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases have earned him the recognition and admiration of his patients. But what intrigued the reporter more was his keen and continuous concern for the post-operative physical and mental recovery of his patients, in addition to his medical skills. On the table in Director Yang’s consultation room, the reporter saw a thick black notebook with the names of many patients who had undergone his surgery and their communication methods. “The physical and mental recovery of patients is a long-term process, and I hope to keep in close contact with them all the time to give them practical guidance. In addition, medicine is changing rapidly, and if medical developments improve, patients can be notified to receive better treatment in a timely manner.” Director Yang said. ”Director Yang, thank you especially for examining me so carefully at that time in the outpatient clinic to determine if I needed surgery, and even more so that day for coming back to the ward after sitting in the clinic all day before surgery to carefully plan my surgery; such a small incision to remove two fibroids in different locations at once! It was a great relief for me and my family!” Not long after the pleasantries were exchanged, a patient came in to thank Director Yang. This patient was one of the patients successfully cured by the “small incision cosmetic surgery for benign breast tumors” carried out by Yang Qifeng. Small incision cosmetic surgery is a “gospel” for women who love beauty. The small incision cosmetic surgery performed by Yang Qifeng completely eliminates the disease concerns while preserving the overall appearance of the breast, and the post-operative recovery is fast, with hidden incisions and mostly invisible scars after recovery. At present, based on the original lump removal, the scope of application of small incision cosmetic surgery has been expanded to allow for the removal of the entire breast and the implantation of implants, which is a leading position in China. And the whole interview process that followed was interrupted by patients coming in one after another. Some of these patients came to thank us, some came to make appointments, and many more came to consult about their conditions. Faced with these familiar or unfamiliar faces, Director Yang always smilingly explained to them patiently. The words of one of the patients made the reporter realize the parental heart of Director Yang. The patient said, “I will never forget the first time I came to see Director Yang by name, it was a cold winter day. My heart was instantly warmed up.” Dedication to Love Founding the Anti-Cancer Club On the home page of Director Yang’s personal website, there is this sentence: “The world needs everyone’s love and dedication, and the scars of patients’ bodies and minds need to be healed by the joint efforts of doctors, patients, family and friends!” When breast cancer surgery is done, it does not mean the end of treatment. Director Yang repeatedly emphasized this point to the reporter. That’s why she has expanded her treatment from the operating room and the hospital to the other side of the world: founding the Pink Love Health Club. The club focuses on self-management and is dedicated to improving patients’ lives and situations by organizing fitness dances, outings, lectures and other activities to help patients get out of the shadow of the disease. ”Only patients and patients can empathize with each other. Many patients do not listen to their doctors or family members, but trust the words of fellow patients more. By advocating the establishment of such a club, we also hope that patients can encourage and positively influence each other to recover their physical and mental health as soon as possible.” Director Yang said. With the concept of mutual help and dedication, the club has grown from the initial 40 members to more than 280 members since its establishment in 2008, encouraging and supporting each other, not only drawing “positive energy” from each other, but also passing this “positive energy” to others, encouraging and helping each other. The club has grown from the initial 40 members to more than 280 members, who encourage and support each other, not only to draw “positive energy” from each other, but also to pass it on to others, encouraging and helping more breast patients to join the club family and regain their confidence in life. Director Yang said, “I returned to China to do clinical work while doing research on overcoming cancer, and this dream of my life can be more realized after I return to China.” Founding the Anti-Cancer Club is an important part of Director Yang’s dream, and he has also made it another part of his career to start the club to help patients return to normal life in society. As the founder of the club, Director Yang feels gratified: we are keeping these patients healthier and able to unite everyone in the fight against the disease: we also hope that more caring people will support us as a club. Director Yang Qifeng once said from the bottom of his heart at a Pink Love Health Club fellowship: “The club has saved so many patients and families, and it is really a spiritual support for breast cancer patients. I hope that not only my patients, but also those who have had surgery anywhere, will join this club. I hope more breast cancer patients will support each other and create a spring of happy life together.”
