How AIDS is transmitted

The common ways of transmission of AIDS are sexual contact, blood products and direct transmission from mother to child. 1. Sexual contact: AIDS is a group of chronic infectious diseases caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which is found in blood, semen and vaginal secretions. Sexual contact is the most common mode of transmission. 2. Blood product transmission: Intravenous injection with the same needle, importation of HIV-containing blood, etc. can lead to infection. 3. Mother-to-child transmission: HIV-infected pregnant women can pass the virus directly from the placenta to the fetus in the uterus. The birth canal during labor and delivery, post-partum bloody secretions, and post-partum breastfeeding may also cause the baby to get AIDS. The death rate of AIDS is very high. Once diagnosed, the patient should be treated promptly in order to maximize the survival period. In general, care should be taken to cut off the means of transmission of AIDS to prevent infection.
