The difference between the five and four doses of rabies vaccine is the timing of the vaccination. The four-dose rabies vaccine consists of two doses on day 0, followed by one dose on days 7 and 21, for a total of three doses. The five-shot method is five injections on days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28. The four-shot vaccination is 7 days shorter than the five-shot vaccination, the quality of the four-shot vaccination is slightly higher, and the antibody production time is earlier than the five-shot vaccination. Generally, about 7 days after the first four-dose vaccination, the antibody (+) rate produced in the body can reach about 70%. For some patients with shorter incubation periods, lives can be saved earlier, but the difference between the two is small. Both the five and four doses of rabies vaccine are effective, and patients are advised to be sure to follow the doctor’s instructions to get vaccinated in a timely manner and within the prescribed time frame, and how to get effective protection.
