The common forms of seizures are divided into generalized and focal, the following are the common forms of seizures in epilepsy. 1, tonic clonic seizure: also known as grand mal seizure, is a common type of seizure, loss of consciousness, sudden fall or scream, tonic muscle contraction, eye roll up, respiratory arrest, cyanosis, dilated pupils, loss of response to light, often foaming at the mouth, may have incontinence, lasts for several minutes to tens of minutes, post-ictal confusion, drowsiness. The EEG shows bilateral spikes or slow waves. 2. Tonic seizure: sudden tonic contraction of certain muscles, such as trunk flexion, neck extension, head tilt, shoulder lift, arm rotation, elbow flexion or extension, fixed in a certain posture for a few seconds or longer, followed by seizure cessation, normal muscle tone, return to the original posture, with brief loss of consciousness during the seizure. 3, myoclonic seizure: a muscle or muscle group suddenly, rapidly and forcefully contracted, causing one or bilateral limb jerking, jerking when the object in hand fell to the ground or fell out. The trunk muscle contraction is manifested as a sudden forceful nodding, bending or backward. When standing, the seizure is manifested as a violent fall to the ground, often injuring the head, forehead, jaw and lips. 4.Aphasic seizure: sudden onset of transient disorder of consciousness without aura, lasting 5-30 seconds, interrupting language, stopping activities, not responding to calls, eyes staring or turning upward, holding objects to the ground, eyelids, lips or head may tremble slightly. After the seizure, continue the original activity, no memory of the seizure process, several or dozens of seizures per day. 5, atonic seizures: sudden onset of transient loss of muscle tone, and thus unable to maintain posture, the seizure lasts 1 to 3 seconds, accompanied by loss of consciousness, such as standing seizures, as a sudden bowing of the head, two arms slightly abducted, fingers open, upper arm drooping, bending knees, followed by a fall, consciousness quickly recovered, immediately stand up. Seizures can be continuous. 6, limited motor seizure: manifest as a part of the body in a rhythmic twitch, such as one side of the upper limb or facial muscle twitching; can also start from a local, gradually expand to other parts. There is no loss of consciousness during the seizure. 7.Limited sensory seizures: abnormal somatic or special sensations, no limb twitching during the seizure. 8, complex partial seizures: seizures with mental, consciousness, motor, sensory and autonomic symptoms, can be accompanied by automaticity, manifested as impaired consciousness, can not understand the environment at the time, can not complete simple commands or normal movements, this seizure can also develop into a generalized seizure, at this time called partial seizures generalized into generalized tonic clonic seizures.
