Do malignant tumors of the tongue matter

Malignant tumor of tongue is one of the common oral malignant tumors. The main metastatic pathways of tongue malignant tumor are local invasion and lymph node metastasis, which rarely lead to life-threatening systemic multi-organ failure due to hematogenous metastasis, but tongue malignant tumor can greatly affect the quality of life, so it is one of the more important malignant tumors in clinical practice. Malignant tumors of the tongue tend to occur at the lateral edge of the active part of the tongue, especially at the posterior lateral edge, and generally grow infiltratively along the tongue muscle. The incidence is higher in men than in women. Clinically, moderately differentiated or highly differentiated squamous carcinoma is predominant, with local invasion and lymph node metastasis as the main modes of invasion.
