The proper way to use a contraceptive package is to place the medication deep in the vagina and have sex 5-10 minutes after application. Contraceptive pessary is a kind of more commonly used external spermicide, its main ingredient is nonyl phenyl ether, which is able to destroy the sperm cell membrane to make the sperm inactive. If the pessary is used correctly, the effective rate may reach more than 95%, and the steps of using the pessary are as follows: 1. Wash your hands before using the pill, then take the supine position and push the pessary deep into the vagina. 2. After the pessary is inserted into the vagina, it takes about 5-10 minutes for it to melt. After 5-10 minutes, you can have intercourse. 3. If the pessary has been in the vagina for 30 minutes without intercourse, it is no longer effective. If you want to have sex, you need to put another one in. Do not use this method of contraception in menopausal women as vaginal secretions decrease and the pessary does not dissolve easily.
