What are the side effects of Librium Lamotrigine tablets?

Librium is the trade name and generic name of Lamotrigine tablets, common side effects include rash, agitation, headache drowsiness, dizziness and tremor, ataxia, hypertension, palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), and upright hypotension, among other adverse effects. Lamotrigine is a voltage-sensitive sodium channel blocker that increases neuronal stability by decreasing sodium inward flow through sodium channels and is used clinically in the treatment of epilepsy. Note that it is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the product. It should be used with caution in patients with renal failure and severe hepatic impairment. When used in combination with sodium valproate, there is competition between the two drugs for hepatic metabolism, causing a decrease in the concentration of sodium valproate, while the metabolism of lamotrigine is slowed down, the half-life is prolonged considerably, and the risk of adverse reactions is increased. Patients should use the drug under the guidance of a medical professional and strictly follow the medical advice.
