New pneumonia discharge criteria

The discharge criteria for novel pneumonia are very clear. The latest fifth edition of the treatment guidelines clearly states that patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia need to have normal body temperature for at least 3 consecutive days, disappearance of respiratory symptoms, i.e., dyspnea, dry cough or respiratory distress, cough, etc., and a CT chest radiograph showing that the inflammation in the lungs has been absorbed and disappeared. In this case, nucleic acid testing is also required and needs to be performed at least 1 day apart, with 2 negative viral nucleic acid tests. Only if all of the above are met can the novel coronavirus pneumonia be considered to be under control and the patient is cured and can be discharged. Content source: Dr. You Lai
