How to treat vocal fold hypertrophy inverted dyspnea

Vocal fold hypertrophy is a feature of chronic hypertrophic laryngitis, which does not cause dyspnea. Dyspnea is treated according to its severity.
In cases of chronic hypertrophic laryngitis, the vocal folds are thickened, the edges are blunted, and in severe cases, the front of the two vocal folds lean against each other so that the vocal folds do not open completely. The main symptoms are hoarseness, laryngeal discomfort and dryness without causing breathing difficulties. Treatment mainly includes nebulized inhalation, hormone vocal cord injection, and containing laryngeal tablets. The medication and operation should follow the doctor’s instructions.
Dyspnea can be categorized into four degrees, for different degrees need to choose the appropriate treatment.
1. First degree: the cause of the disease should be clarified and active treatment should be carried out to address the cause. If it is caused by bacterial infection, antibiotics such as amoxicillin and steroid hormones such as prednisone should be used actively to control inflammatory swelling and relieve laryngeal obstruction, and generally tracheotomy can be avoided.
2. Second degree: on the basis of the above treatment, but should be prepared for tracheotomy as appropriate. If it is a foreign body in the respiratory tract, it should be removed immediately. If it is a laryngeal tumor, tracheotomy can be considered.
3. Third degree: medication and oxygen can be tried first, and preparation for tracheotomy should be made. If there is no improvement after conservative treatment, or if the laryngeal obstruction is long and the general condition is poor, early surgery should be performed.
4. Fourth degree: immediate tracheotomy. If the condition is very urgent, cricothyrotomy can be performed first.
When you feel dyspnea, you need to actively seek medical treatment, systematic examination, clear diagnosis and etiology, and then follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the treatment.
