Nifedipine, Labetalol, Benadryl and so on are the antihypertensive drugs that can be taken for high blood pressure during breastfeeding. It is suggested that patients should follow the doctor’s instructions to use the drugs and not blindly use them on their own.
1. Nifedipine: Nifedipine is a calcium channel blocker, which can dilate the peripheral blood vessels and reduce the resistance of blood vessels, so as to achieve the purpose of lowering blood pressure. It should be noted that nifedipine can enter breast milk, and should be taken during lactation to stop breastfeeding.
2. Labetalol: Labetalol is a beta-blocker, which can be used for various types of hypertension, and it does not affect the growth and development of the fetus when used for pregnancy hypertension, and should be used by lactating women under the guidance of a doctor.
3. Benadryl: Benadryl is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, which is suitable for all stages of hypertension and congestive heart failure. When Benadryl is used in lactating women, only a very small amount of the drug can be secreted into human milk, and the amount that infants ingest from breast milk is low and relatively safe.
Patients with high blood pressure during breastfeeding should follow medical advice to standardize the use of antihypertensive drugs, and stop breastfeeding if necessary, so as not to affect the growth and development of the baby. In addition, breastfeeding women should pay attention to dietary regulation, strictly limit the intake of salt, sugar, fat, can eat more food rich in potassium, calcium, such as eggplant, kelp and so on.
