Lung nodule surgery is usually discharged in a few days

Lung nodule surgery discharge time is related to the surgical method, the size of the nodule, the patient’s own physical condition and other factors, the general discharge time is about 3~7 days. Currently, the mainstream pulmonary nodule surgery is minimally invasive surgery, i.e., resection of the area where the nodule is located is carried out under thoracoscopy, and chest drains are put in for drainage after the surgery, and lymph node dissection is also needed if the nodule is malignant. Generally, the patient can be discharged from the hospital after the operation without bleeding, air leakage or serious complications, and the average hospitalization time is around 3~7 days. Patients with small nodules and good physical condition can be discharged from the hospital in 2~3 days after the operation. However, if the patient is older, has poor lung function, and develops complications after the operation, the hospitalization time will be relatively longer and may take about 1 week to be discharged from the hospital.
