What are the treatments for keloid scars?

Keloid scars are persistent diseases that affect the beauty of human appearance. Wherever there is trauma, there is the potential for keloid scars to develop. Not every part of the body is susceptible to keloid scarring. The main areas of keloid scarring are the ear, chest, back of the shoulder, and outer upper arm, while other areas are less likely to develop keloid scars. In terms of ethnicity, people of color are more likely to develop keloid scars, while Caucasians are less likely to develop keloid scars; Asian ethnicity is between Black and Caucasian, therefore, in clinical practice, we can see that some Asian ethnicities grow keloid scars after trauma, while others are less likely to grow keloid scars after trauma. Chinese medicine in China believes that this is due to the different physical evidence types.

There are many means to treat keloid scars, but most of them can only inhibit the growth of keloid scars and cannot fundamentally solve the clinical problem. For example, surgical excision is prone to recurrence, drug injection is prone to rebound, radiotherapy is afraid of damaging deep organs and has many side effects, topical medication is ineffective, and comprehensive treatment is particularly cumbersome although it is effective. In short, patients are very annoyed and torn; doctors are very helpless because they have not found a more ideal method, especially those who are engaged in this area of work, such as burns, plastic surgeons, drug research workers, etc.
