The efficacy and effects of the loom point are to dispel wind and relieve the symptoms, promote lung and asthma, and relieve tendons and collaterals.
The loom belongs to the foot solar bladder meridian. It is located in the spinal region, below the spinous process of the 1st thoracic vertebra, 1.5 inches away from the posterior midline. It is mainly used for treating cold, fever, headache, cough, wheezing, strong collar, shoulder and back pain.
In modern times, it is often used to treat osteoarthritis of knee joint, cervical spondylosis, bone tuberculosis, arthritis, pneumonia, bronchitis, numbness of limbs, headache, vertigo, pleurisy, spasm and pain of lumbar and back muscles.
Clinically, the loom point can be used with the Tianzhu point, Tao Dao point, Ben Shen point and Kong Zhi point to treat headache; and with the Tongtian point, Baihui point, Fengchi point, Wuan Bone point and Mute Gate point to treat strong neck pain.
