Paediatric rhinorrhoea occurs in the autumn and winter months, when the capillaries tend to contract and become brittle due to the relatively cold weather and further loss of water due to dry weather or air conditioning at home, resulting in spontaneous rhinorrhoea. These nosebleeds tend to occur in the anterior segment of the nasal cavity and can heal on their own after pressure has been applied to stop the bleeding and moisturise the area.
