Liver stagnation is difficult to be cured by self-regulation, and usually requires treatment with either Puanxuan or Chaihu Shuohe San. The specific treatment course is related to the patient’s condition and other factors, so it is difficult to generalize.
1. Free and Easy Dispersant: This formula relieves the liver and resolves depression, nourishes blood and strengthens the spleen, and is mainly used for treating the syndrome of liver depression, blood deficiency and spleen weakness. Due to emotional disorders, the liver and wood cannot be organized, and the liver body loses its softness, resulting in liver depression and blood deficiency, which is multiplied by the spleen and earth, resulting in weakness of the spleen and stomach. Clinical manifestations include pain in both hypochondriacs, headache and dizziness, dry mouth and throat, fatigue (dysphoria), poor appetite, or cold and heat, or irregular menstruation, breast distension and pain.
2. Chai Hu Shuo Liver Relief: This formula relieves liver stagnation, relieves depression, moves qi and relieves pain (relieves pain by regulating the body’s qi), and treats liver qi stagnation. As a result of emotional disorders, the liver loses its suppleness and smoothness, and liver qi is stagnant and stagnant. Clinical manifestations include pain in the ribs, chest tightness, depression or irritability, belching (hiccups), and fullness in the epigastrium (stomach and abdomen).
The adverse effects of the above formula are not known. If symptoms of liver depression and qi stagnation occur, it is recommended to consult a Chinese medicine practitioner in a timely manner for diagnosis and treatment, rather than self-medication, to avoid adverse effects. Acupuncture and tuina can also be used as prescribed by the doctor.
