Itching around the wound can be wiped with iodophor. However, it is important to note that if symptoms such as localized pus or generalized fever are present, concomitant use of anti-infective medications is recommended. Possible reasons for itching around the wound include stimulation of granulation tissue production during wound healing and local infection. The production of granulation tissue during wound healing is a normal physiological process and usually does not require special medication, but local disinfection with povidone-iodine can be used to prevent infection and promote healing. If the wound itching is combined with symptoms such as redness, swelling, pus or generalized fever, topical anti-infective drugs such as erythromycin ointment can be used in addition to iodine povidone; penicillin can be used as appropriate for those with generalized fever. The above drugs need to be used under the guidance of clinicians.
