What does it mean to have the body of the uterus in a neutral position?

Uterine body neutrality refers to the relationship between the uterine body and the cervix in anterior, neutral, and posterior flexion positions. Anterior flexion is when the longitudinal axis of the uterine corpus and cervix form an angle toward the front; horizontal uterine corpus means that the uterine corpus and cervix are in the same position; and retroflexion is when the angle between the uterine corpus and cervix forms an angle toward the back of the pelvis. Normally, most women have an anteriorly flexed uterus, but some women have a neutral or posteriorly flexed uterus, which does not pose a problem for pregnancy, as long as the uterus is not usually inflamed and there are no fibroids, which is normal.
