A tickling cough may be associated with conditions such as chronic allergic pharyngitis, reflux pharyngitis and cough variant asthma. General, pharmacologic and surgical treatments need to be selected according to the cause and characteristics of the disease. There is no quick fix for all diseases.

Avoid contact with allergens, avoid excessive exercise can be applied β2 agonists, such as salbutamol; anticholinergic drugs, such as ipratropium bromide; glucocorticoids, such as prednisone.
