How is autism diagnosed?

Autism can be diagnosed through auxiliary examination, history questioning and symptom presentation.
1. Ancillary tests: Doctors can directly observe the presence of social disorders, narrow interests and repetitive stereotyped behaviors through observational scales, mainly the Childhood Autism Evaluation Scale and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale, in conjunction with clinical symptoms.
2. History and symptomatology: Persistence of typical symptoms such as impaired social interaction, delayed speech development, narrow interests and repetitive and stereotyped behavioral patterns, and exclusion of schizophrenia, mental retardation and other pervasive developmental disorders in children are the main diagnostic bases.
Therefore, when a child is suspected of having the above symptoms, he or she should consult a doctor in a timely manner for early intervention under the guidance of a professional doctor.
