If you swallow a fishbone, it is recommended that you stop eating immediately and try to expel it by coughing or vomiting, or go to the hospital if it cannot be expelled on its own. Do not forcefully swallow, so as not to swallow the fishbone deeper.
1. If you have just stuck a fishbone, and the fishbone is not very deep yet, we can cough or induce vomiting, and the fishbone may be discharged through physical action. It is also recommended that you do not swallow hard, or try to force the fishbone down by eating vegetables or rice balls, as this may be counterproductive.
2. If the fishbone has been swallowed deeply and cannot be relieved by coughing, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time. Doctors need to find the fishbone through indirect laryngoscopy or electronic laryngoscopy, and then remove it with specialized tools. Fish spines are more likely to get stuck at the base of the tongue, the epiglottis, and the pyriform fossa.
If you have swallowed a fishbone and cannot solve the problem effectively by yourself, it is recommended to go to the hospital to have the fishbone removed in time.
