Electronic laryngoscopy and fiber laryngoscopy both have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the difference in accuracy is not very obvious.
1. Fiber laryngoscope: the mirror body is relatively thin and soft, the operation is relatively simple, the damage caused to the organism is relatively small, the pain is relatively small, and the wound caused is also small. The disadvantage is that the mirror is relatively small, the mirror tube is relatively long, it is easy to fish-eye effect, the image may be distorted and deformed, the color fidelity decreases, and so on.
Fiber laryngoscope is good for narrow pharyngeal cavity and hypertrophy of tongue. Fiber laryngoscope can see the pharynx, nasal cavity, etc. It can also remove foreign objects, pharyngeal biopsy and so on.
2. Electronic laryngoscope: the whole body of electronic laryngoscope is relatively slim, light and handy, which can clarify the lesion site. It can capture images, which are clearer and can be printed or stored. The disadvantages are that it is more expensive and it can damage the mucous membranes with symptoms such as heart and vomiting.
Electronic laryngoscopy is more effective for laryngeal masses, foreign bodies, inflammation, and vocal cord paralysis. The electronic laryngoscope can observe the larynx and can also determine whether the vibration of the vocal cords is intact.
